Surveillance

Garment Assessment and Prescription

Garment Assessment and Prescription

Evidence suggests that people who undergo lymph node surgery and/or radiation therapy can go on to develop cancer related lymphoedema.

Early intervention and surveillance are key. Evidence shows early assessment and treatment can lead to better outcomes including reduced rates of irreversible, chronic cancer related lymphoedema.

Research suggests that lymphoedema surveillance and review continue for:

· High risk of developing lymphoedema: 3 months to 3 years post-surgery

· Low risk of developing lymphoedema: 3 months to 24 months post-surgery

Your Lymphoedema Therapist will support you in your early intervention and surveillance journey.
